Troops Arrest Suspected Terror Logistics Supplier in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have arrested a suspected logistics supplier for ISWAP terrorists during an operation in Ngamdu area of Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said the suspect, identified as Alhaji Goni Ashami, 30, from Zaramari village in Kaga LGA, was arrested on June 21 at Ngamdu market.
The sources said the arrest was carried out by troops of the 154 Task Force Battalion in collaboration with the Ngamdu Forest Guards and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
Items recovered from the suspect included a pickup truck, 75 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), a Tecno mobile phone, a knife, and the sum of ₦24,750.
According to the sources, the suspect is believed to have been involved in supplying logistics to terrorist elements operating in the North-East.
He is currently in military custody and is expected to be handed over to the Sector 2 Military Intelligence Brigade (MIB) for further interrogation.
Security authorities said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist supply chains and dismantle support networks aiding insurgent activities in the region.
The sources added that the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops continue to maintain high morale and operational efficiency.
