Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Collaborator in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborator in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.

 

Security sources said the suspect, identified as Abba Babagoni, 23, from Gana Ali area of Monguno town, was apprehended at about 11:15 p.m. on April 22.

 

The sources said the suspect had earlier been placed under surveillance over alleged links to terrorist activities and a viral video circulating on social media, considered capable of inciting the public and discrediting constituted authorities.

 

He was arrested by operatives of the Military Intelligence Bureau (MIB), Sector 3, in conjunction with troops of 242 Reconnaissance Battalion while attempting to flee Monguno town through the Charlie 7 deployment area.

 

The sources added that the suspect is currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
