Troops arrest suspected terrorist collaborators, intercept family members in Borno

Troops in Sector 3 Area of Responsibility have arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno.
Security sources said the suspects were apprehended at about 3:10 p.m. on April 11 at Charlie 19 location in Monguno.
According to the sources, the suspects confessed during interrogation that they were contacted by a suspected terrorist to procure items and escort his wife and three young female children to his location at Kwatan Dowoshi in Kukawa Local Government Area.
“Following the arrest, troops recovered four android phones, three wristwatches, a power bank, a Qur’an, two pairs of suspected terrorist uniforms, a prayer mat, a measure of garri and the sum of N135,500,” the sources said.
They added that troops subsequently laid an ambush at the Monguno motor park, where the wife was intercepted alongside her three children.
The sources said the suspects and the family members of the suspected terrorist kingpin are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
They reaffirmed that ongoing operations are aimed at dismantling terrorist support networks and restoring lasting peace in the North-East.
