Troops eliminates four Boko Haram, rescue three kidnapped victims in Borno

Troops of 115 Task Force Battalion have eliminated four Boko Haram terrorists after an attempted attack and rescued three kidnapped victims in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on April 12, following reports of suspicious terrorist movement along the Damboa–Chibok axis.
According to the sources, troops of A Company deployed in ambush position at Mussa made contact with the insurgents.
“The troops engaged the terrorists with effective firepower, killing four of them and forcing others to withdraw and abandon some weapons and other items,” the sources said.
The sources added that at about 6:15 a.m., troops conducted exploitation operations ahead of Old Hyum, where they rescued three kidnapped victims from a terrorist enclave.
They said the victims, identified as Fulani, are from Lagunasa community in Askira Uba Local Government Area.
The sources noted that the victims are currently receiving necessary care, while troops continue clearance operations to deny terrorists freedom of action in the area.
