Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace have arrested two suspected fraudsters for allegedly attempting to defraud a provision shop owner using a fake bank transfer alert in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects, identified as Ismail Yakub Ibrahim and Mubarak, were arrested at about 9:00 p.m. on July 11 at Busa Buji, opposite Jossy Royal International Hotel, following a report of the alleged fraud attempt.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects attempted to obtain goods from the provision shop by presenting a fake electronic payment alert as evidence of payment.

The suspects are currently in custody and are undergoing further investigation to determine whether they are linked to similar fraudulent activities in the area.

Security authorities advised business owners to verify electronic payment transactions before releasing goods in order to guard against fake transfer alert scams.
