Troops, Vigilantes Arrest 27 Suspected Drug Peddlers in Jos Raid

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace, in conjunction with local vigilantes, have arrested 27 suspected drug peddlers during coordinated raids on notorious drug hotspots in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted at about 5:30 p.m. on July 12 at Yanshanu, Dutse Uku and the Farin Gada Tomatoes Market areas following intelligence on illicit drug activities.
During the raid, the joint security team apprehended 27 suspects and recovered quantities of substances suspected to be cannabis sativa and other illicit drugs.
The suspects were profiled and are being processed for further investigation and necessary legal action.
Security authorities said the operation forms part of sustained efforts by Operation Enduring Peace to dismantle drug trafficking networks, curb the circulation of illicit substances and reduce crimes associated with drug abuse across Plateau State.
