Troops Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers in Edo, Recover Mobile Phone

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested two suspected kidnappers in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, in a joint operation with local vigilantes and hunters.
Military sources said the suspects were apprehended on June 2 at about 1850 hours beside Eddie Skye Hotel during a coordinated operation led by troops of the 4 Brigade deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Udomi.
According to the sources, the suspects were alleged to have masterminded an attempted kidnapping and murder of a civilian on May 27 at a farm in Oloshi Main Town.
During the arrest, troops recovered one mobile phone from the suspects, which is currently being held for further investigation.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ubiaja Division, for further interrogation and prosecution.
Security sources said preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in other criminal activities within the area.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with local security stakeholders to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes across Edo State and surrounding communities.
