Troops Rescue Two Kidnap Victims in Kogi Forest

Troops have rescued two kidnapped victims from a forest in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State following a search and clearance operation conducted in the early hours of June 3.
Security sources said the rescue was carried out at about 0530 hours within the Odo Ape forest by troops deployed under the 12 Battalion.
According to the sources, the victims were abducted on May 31 at Ayegunle Bunu before being taken into the forest by their captors.
Following sustained search operations, troops located and successfully rescued the victims without further incident.
The rescued individuals are currently in military custody for preliminary debriefing and further necessary action.
Security authorities said follow-up operations are ongoing in the general area to track down the kidnappers and prevent further criminal activity within the forest corridor.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustained clearance operations aimed at dismantling criminal hideouts and improving security across Kogi State and adjoining areas.
