Troops arrest two suspected terrorists’ collaborators with ₦3.65m in Monguno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators and recovered ₦3.65 million from them in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.
The suspects, identified as Mallam Alhaji Momoh, 35, and Jidda Haruna, 30, were arrested at about 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Charlie 4 in Monguno town.
According to a military situation report obtained by Zagazola Makama, the suspects told troops that they were travelling to Baga to buy fish when they were intercepted.
Items recovered from them included personal clothing, six loaves of bread and the sum of ₦3,650,000.
The circumstances surrounding the large amount of cash and the suspects’ alleged links to terrorists are now being investigated.
The suspects and recovered items remain in the custody of Headquarters Sector 3 for profiling, interrogation and further necessary action.
The arrest forms part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at identifying and disrupting terrorist collaborators and support networks operating across the Lake Chad axis.
Troops continue to maintain heightened surveillance around Monguno and adjoining communities to prevent terrorist infiltration and disrupt their activities.
The general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops maintain satisfactory morale and operational readiness.
