Troops Arrest Two Suspects Over Alleged Armed Robbery in Plateau Market

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged armed robbery incident at Agingi Market in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 6:20 p.m. on May 18, 2026, when troops deployed under Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace, responded to a distress call regarding suspected criminal activities in the market area.
On arrival, the troops reportedly discovered that a tricycle rider, identified as Mr Napis Daniel, had been assaulted by a group of youths, while his tricycle was allegedly forcefully taken at gunpoint.
The sources further indicated that the tricycle was allegedly seized by one Mr Aguja during the incident.
Two suspects were subsequently arrested by the troops in connection with the alleged crime and are currently in custody for further investigation.
Security authorities said efforts were ongoing to recover the stolen tricycle and apprehend other individuals linked to the incident.
