Troops clear bandit hideouts, detonate IED in Sokoto

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA (OPFY) have cleared several deserted terrorist hideouts and safely detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Sokoto State.

 

Zagazola learnt  that at about 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, troops cleared Tumbulumkum and Rumji villages in Illela LGA, while at 11:00 a.m., another sets of the troops of cleared Rugan Ruwa, Alela and Bilangi in Tangaza LGA.

 

Sources said no contact was made, but troops observed that Bilangi village had been deserted.

 

It added that troops discovered an IED along their withdrawal route, which was later safely detonated by experts.
