Troops of the Nigerian Army have cleared a terrorist roadblock along the Shagari–Tambuwal road in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, when troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Shagari responded to information about terrorists blocking the major route.

The troops engaged the terrorists and successfully cleared the road, forcing the attackers to withdraw from the area.

The operation restored the free movement of motorists and pedestrians along the route, which had been temporarily disrupted by the terrorist activity.

Security personnel have continued to maintain vigilance along the axis to prevent further attempts by terrorists to disrupt movement and intimidate residents.
