Troops conduct offensive operation in Anambra, encounter three IED explosions

Troops of 302 Artillery Regiment (General Support) and 14 Field Engineer Regiment, acting on the directive of the Chief of Army Staff, have conducted a three-day offensive operation in Ubaha community, Isseke area of Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A military source told Zagazola Makama that the operation commenced at about 10:16 a.m. on April 1 as part of ongoing clearance operations in the general Isseke axis.
The source said the troops cleared the Isseke–Ubaha road and adjoining communities during the operation aimed at denying criminal elements freedom of action in the area.
He added that during the operation, troops encountered three improvised explosive device (IED) explosions along the route.
According to him, no casualties were recorded as a result of the explosions.
The source said the troops continued with the offensive action in line with operational directives, with efforts ongoing to stabilise the affected communities.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Army to sustain aggressive operations against criminal elements across the South-East.
