Troops of 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police and local vigilante groups, have apprehended a suspect and destroyed suspected criminal hideouts during an offensive operation in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Zagazola report  that the operation was carried out at about 7:00 a.m. on April 10 at Akpagogo Forest under the Joint Task Force (JTF) Omala.

Sources said the troops, while conducting clearance operations in the forest, apprehended a civilian alleged to have violated established grazing guidelines within the area.

Further exploitation of the forest led to the destruction of suspected criminal camps believed to serve as hideouts for criminal elements.

The suspect has been handed over to the Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abejukolo for further investigation and necessary action.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to deny criminals safe havens and enhance security across the state.
