Troops engage terrorists in Katsina, recover motorcycle

Troops of the Nigerian Army under 17 Brigade have engaged suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Security sources said the encounter occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on April 26 when troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Matazu made contact with terrorists mounted on motorcycles along the Karaduwa–Matazu road.
The sources disclosed that the troops immediately engaged the armed elements, forcing them to withdraw into surrounding bushes.
According to the sources, one motorcycle was recovered during the operation.
They added that troops continued exploitation of the general area, while patrols have been intensified to prevent further movement of the fleeing suspects.
