Troops foil kidnapping attempt in Katsina, nutrialised bandits

A combined team of security operatives has foiled a kidnapping attempt by suspected armed bandits targeting market returnees along a remote feeder road to Doma village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Sources informed Zagazola Makama that The incident occurred on April 28 at about 3:00 p.m., when the armed men laid an ambush for residents returning from the local market.
Security sources said that the troops, swiftly mobilised and engaged the bandits in a gun battle, killing unspecified numbers of them and forcing others to fled.
The bandits, who retreated into the Yarmalamai forest after the encounter, reportedly opened fire on the vigilante team, resulting in the death of two members.
The injured vigilante members were rushed to the General Hospital, Funtua, where they were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
