Troops foil suspected Fulani militia reprisal attack in Mangu, Plateau

Troops of Sector 8, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have foiled a reprisal attack by suspected Fulani militias at Manja Village in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 0558 hours on Sept. 16, 2026, when troops deployed at Manja Forest responded to a report of an attack on the community.
According to security sources, the troops’ swift intervention forced the suspected attackers to retreat deep into the surrounding bush.
The troops subsequently exploited the general area in search of fleeing or remaining attackers before returning to their base.
Security personnel have maintained a red alert in the area to forestall any further incursion or attack on the community.
No casualty was reported in the initial account of the incident.
