Swift intervention by combined troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA on April 17 thwarted separate bandit attacks in Faskari and Kurfi Local Government Areas of Katsina State, resulting in the rescue of kidnapped victims and recovery of rustled livestock.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that In Faskari LGA, along Marabar Bangori Road near Yankara Village, armed bandits barricaded the road and attacked a commercial vehicle around 8:10 p.m.

The attackers were repelled following a gun battle, leading to the rescue of two victims, Mahammadu Makiyu, 40, and Audu Dawa, 27, both residents of Faskari Town. The assailants fled the scene, and patrols in the area have been intensified.

In a similar incident earlier that day, at about 2:00 a.m., suspected bandits invaded Wanzamai Village in Sabongari, Kurfi LGA. The attackers were intercepted while attempting to flee, resulting in a shootout.

Three kidnapped victims – Zainab Hassan, 25, Aisha Abubakar, 2, and Dahara Abubakar, 20 – were rescued unharmed. Six rustled cattle were also recovered during the operation.
