Troops Inflict Heavy Casualties on Bandits in Zamfara Attack

Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma have inflicted heavy casualties on bandits who launched an attack on Mada town in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Sources said that the combined troops, consisting of Nigerian Army personnel and government-backed militia known as Askarawa, engaged the heavily armed bandits in a fierce gun battle.
The sources said that the bandits stormed Mada town in large numbers but were swiftly met with superior firepower from the security forces.
Several bandits were killed, while others fled into the forest with gunshot wounds.
“I can confirm that several of the bandits were killed with no casualties on our gallant troops,”said the sources.
Troops pursued the fleeing attackers, neutralizing more of them as they attempted to regroup.
Weapons and motorcycles were recovered from the scene.
Sources confirmed that calm has been restored, and additional troops have been deployed to prevent further attacks.
