Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted logistics items suspected to belong to terrorist elements in Mainok area of Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
Military sources said the items were formally handed over at about 3:45 p.m. on March 18 by personnel of the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps (NAIC) Special Intelligence Cell in Damaturu.
The sources said the materials were earlier intercepted after suspected terrorist couriers abandoned them near a military checkpoint in Mainok on March 8.
“Two suspected terrorist logistics couriers abandoned the items on sighting troops at a checkpoint, leading to their recovery,” the source said.
Items recovered included six rolls of black fabric, 10 pieces of 30-yard Ankara materials, two cartons of sachet beverages, 480 sachets of powdered creamer milk and four bundles of clothing zips.
The items have since been handed over to Sector 2 Military Intelligence Brigade for further investigation and necessary action.
