Troops nab suspected terrorist in Wukari, intensify search for accomplices in Taraba

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested a suspected terrorist in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State following a handover by vigilant residents.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended on April 6, 2026, at Rafin Kada community along the Rafin Kada–Wukari axis.
He was said to have been intercepted by locals before being handed over to troops at about 8:00 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is allegedly a member of a terrorist group operating within the area.
He was reportedly arrested while attempting to purchase marijuana in the community.
The suspect was also found with a sum of ₦2,200 at the time of his arrest.
Troops have since taken him into custody for further interrogation and investigation, while efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the criminal network operating in the axis.
