Troops Neutralise Terrorist in Ambush Operation in Bama, Recover Weapon

Troops of 202 Battalion Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised a suspected terrorist during an ambush operation in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
Military sources said the ambush was carried out at about 7:00 p.m. on May 16, 2026, ahead of Bravo Kilo 10 axis.
According to the sources, the troops made contact with the suspect during the operation and successfully neutralised him.
Items recovered from the scene included one Hand-Held Rocket (HHR) and one mobile phone.
Security authorities said follow-up operations were ongoing in the area to prevent further movement of terrorist elements within the axis.
