Troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, operating from Forward Operating Base Kamba, in collaboration with police personnel and forest guards, have neutralised a suspected terrorist and recovered 35 rustled cattle in Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Security sources said the operation was launched at about 6:05 p.m. on April 3 following intelligence on the movement of stolen livestock by members of the Lakurawa terrorist group around the Goron Yamma general area.
On arrival, troops made contact with the armed elements, resulting in a brief exchange of fire during which one suspect was neutralised while others fled the scene.
The sources added that 35 cattle were successfully recovered during the operation and have since been handed over to local authorities for identification and possible return to their rightful owners.
