Edo: troops rescue kidnapped driver after attack on Dangote truck along Okpella–Auchi road

Troops of 195 Battalion (Rear) have rescued a kidnapped driver following an attack on a Dangote truck along the Okpella–Auchi Road in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on April 1 when armed men attacked the truck and abducted its driver.
Troops on routine patrol along the axis responded to a distress call and immediately trailed the fleeing assailants along their withdrawal route.
The sustained pursuit reportedly forced the attackers to abandon the victim and escape into nearby bush paths.
The driver was subsequently rescued and taken to the Edo State Primary Healthcare Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
Military authorities said follow-up operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks along the highway.
