Troops Neutralise Two Kidnappers, Rescue Victim in Kogi

Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralised two suspected kidnappers and rescued an abducted civilian during a raid operation in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 9:16 a.m. on May 3 by troops of 12 Brigade deployed at Ofante–Unyi Ogugu Patrol Base, in collaboration with the Police.
The sources disclosed that the troops responded to credible information on the abduction of a civilian at Orakam village.
According to the sources, the joint team raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout at Adego Trailer Park, where they made contact with the criminals.
They added that two kidnappers were neutralised during the exchange of fire, while others fled the scene.
The sources further said the kidnapped victim was successfully rescued during the operation.
Items recovered at the scene include one mobile phone and the sum of ₦40,000.
The sources noted that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network operating in the area.
