Gunmen Abduct Fulani Community Leader Barkin Ladi in Plateau, Demand ₦2m Ransom

Gunmen have abducted a community leader identified as the Wakili Fulani in Kara village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 7:42 a.m. on May 3, prompting a response by troops of Sector 4 under Operation Safe Haven (OPEP), in collaboration with local security agencies.
The sources disclosed that on arrival at the scene, the joint team discovered that the assailants had abducted the victim from his residence and fled with his motorcycle.
According to the sources, the kidnappers later established contact with the victim’s family using his phone and demanded a ransom of ₦2 million.
They added that troops have launched search and rescue operations to track down the perpetrators and secure the victim’s release.
The sources noted that patrols and surveillance have been intensified across the area to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of residents.
