Troops of Sector 2 under Operation Enduring Peace in collaboration with local vigilantes, have neutralised two terrorists during an offensive operation in Dutsen Zaki Forest in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the operation, conducted at about 7:55 a.m. on April 4, was aimed at flushing out armed elements operating around Babangida, Adua, and Bokayi villages.
During the advance along the Babangida–Adua axis, troops made contact with the terrorists, resulting in a brief firefight in which two of the assailants were neutralised while others fled.
Items recovered from the scene include a locally fabricated firearm, a belt containing 105 rounds of 7.62mm PKT ammunition, 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a cutlass.
Military authorities said follow-up operations are ongoing to track and neutralise the fleeing suspects, while troops continue to dominate the general area to prevent further attacks.
