Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), in collaboration with security operatives and local vigilantes, have raided a Fulani settlement in Gongoro, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following an attack on a military checkpoint at Angwan Boka.

Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 8:00 a.m. on November 1, 2026, by troops of Sector 6 OPEP, working alongside a DSOF team, EIB Stratoc and vigilantes.

The raid followed the withdrawal of suspected assailants who attacked troops at the Angwan Boka checkpoint on October 31.

The sources said the operation was aimed at recovering weapons reportedly carted away during the attack.

During the raid, troops apprehended two suspected herders and recovered one motorcycle.

The suspects are currently in military custody, while efforts are ongoing to recover the missing weapons.

Troops continue to sustain security operations in the area to track down the assailants and prevent further attacks.
