Troops of Sector 3, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have recovered 40 cows found grazing on a farm belonging to retired Major General JB Amodu at Jebbu Village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred at about 1830 hours on Sept. 15, 2026, following a report of alleged destruction of the farm.

According to security sources, troops deployed to the location responded to the report and intercepted 40 cows grazing on the farm without a herder in sight.

The livestock were subsequently moved to a safe location for further necessary action and to prevent possible escalation of the situation.

The development highlights the continuing security and land-use tensions in parts of Plateau State, particularly incidents involving open grazing and alleged destruction of farmlands.

Security authorities are expected to establish the ownership of the livestock and circumstances surrounding their presence on the farm.
