Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recovered ammunition and other items during an exploitation mission conducted around Banki, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
The mission, carried out on Sept. 19 by the troops in conjunction with hybrid forces and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), followed recent air strikes on ISWAP positions during the Sept. 18 attack on Banki and Bula Yobe that left atleast 32 ISWAP killed.
Sources told Zagazola Makama on Saturday that the exploitation patrol was launched to assess the battle damage and impact of the strikes.
During the operation, troops recovered one full box of 12.7mm x 108mm ammunition, one box of 7.62mm x 51mm NATO rounds, a bicycle, and a woodland camouflage shirt.
The troops also discovered shallow graves. The troops however could not access all positions of the strikes due to the nature of the terrain.
