Troops Recover Arms in Cordon and Search Operation in Taraba State

Troops of Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), have conducted a cordon and search operation in parts of Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, leading to the recovery of arms and ammunition.
A military source said the operation was carried out at about 8:00 a.m. on June 13 in Mutum Biyu and extended to suspected terrorist enclaves at Grova in the area.
The source disclosed that troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, three AK-47 magazines, and 18 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during the operation.
According to the source, the recovered items are currently in the custody of the troops for further necessary action.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts under Operation Whirl Stroke to deny criminal elements freedom of action and enhance security in the region.
