Troops of Operation ENDURING PEAC deployed in Jong community of Plateau State have recovered a fabricated rifle, a suspected rustled cow and a motorcycle while searching for a suspect accused of threatening to kill his elder brother and poisoning his livestock.

Security sources told Zagazola that the operation followed a complaint received on Friday from one Mr Aliyu Yakubu of Jong village.

Yakubu alleged that his younger brother, Abdullahi Aliyu, had poisoned his livestock and had on several occasions attempted to shoot him.

He further claimed that the suspect threatened to kill him on Friday, prompting him to seek intervention from security personnel.

Acting on the complaint, troops moved to the suspect’s residence but found that he had fled before their arrival.

A subsequent search of the premises led to the recovery of a fabricated rifle concealed inside a bag of grain in a store.

The troops also recovered a motorcycle and a cow, which preliminary investigations indicated was rustled from Ladura village in Fan District.

Security personnel have since intensified efforts and are currently dominating the general area of Jong village to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

Military authorities said further details of the investigation would be made available as operations continue.
