Troops repel ambush, recover motorcycles in Katsina State

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA deployed in Katsina State have repelled a terrorist ambush and recovered seven motorcycles in separate operations across Kankara and Faskari Local Government Areas.

 

Zagazola learnt that the incident occurred when troops of 17 Brigade on routine patrol along the Kankara–FUDMA–Makera–Dutsinma–Dabawa road came under attack at Turare village.

 

“The troops responded swiftly and cleared the ambush, forcing the terrorists to flee,” said sources.

 

The source added that another operation was conducted by troops at Jeka Areda village in Kankara LGA.

 

“During the raid, troops engaged the terrorists who fled towards Ruwan Godiya in Faskari LGA. DSOF blocking forces at Ruwan Godiya made contact with the fleeing terrorists who escaped with gunshot wounds.

 

“Troops recovered six motorcycles at Ruwan Godiya and one motorcycle at Jeka Areda,” the source said.
