Troops repel bandit attack in Sokoto village

The Nigerian Army troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA on Tuesday night repelled an attack by suspected armed bandits on Tsabren Sarki Village in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:00 p.m. on May 13, when a large number of armed bandits stormed the village in search of food.

 

A swift response by a combined team of military  led to a gun duel with the attackers, forcing them to retreat and flee into the nearby bush.

 

No casualties were recorded among the troops or villagers during the encounter.

 

Intensive  joint patrols have been sustained in the area to prevent further incursions and ensure the safety of residents.
