Six Die in Fatal Road Crash on Lambata-Lapai Highway

Six persons have been confirmed dead following a fatal motor accident involving a tanker and a sedan along Kitikpa Old Gawu Road on the Lambata-Lapai Highway.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the accident occurred when a DAF tanker truck with registration number DKA 30X, driven by Ibrahim Umar from Kaduna State, was travelling from Lagos to Kaduna and reportedly drove recklessly.

 

The tanker collided with a sedan vehicle with registration number LFA 724 XA, driven by one Sule Abdullahi, a resident of Bwari Area Council in the FCT.

 

The impact of the collision caused fatal injuries to the driver and five other occupants of the sedan, all of whom were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Lambata, where they were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

 

The bodies of the victims have been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for preservation and identification.

 

The vehicles involved in the crash have been towed to the police division for inspection and further assessment by the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).
