Troops repel ISWAP attack in Chibok, Borno

Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully repelled an attack by ISWAP terrorists in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said the attack occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on May 27 when terrorists attempted to overrun troops of 115 Task Force Battalion at Yarchida.
According to the sources, the troops responded swiftly and engaged the attackers in a gun battle.
The sources added that reinforcement from 117 Task Force Battalion supported the defending troops, leading to the successful repulsion of the attack.
The terrorists were forced to withdraw following superior firepower from the troops.
Security operations have since been intensified in the area to prevent further attacks and sustain stability in the region.
