Troops rescue hostages, kill terrorist in borno clearance operations

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai have rescued two hostages and neutralised a Boko Haram terrorist during clearance operations in Borno State.

 

Zagazola learnt that the operations were conducted on Oct. 1 by troops of 222 Battalion (Main), supported by volunteer forces on motorcycles, in Mittiri, Loskuri, Tamsu Ngamdu, and Wonori villages.

 

One terrorist was killed in the encounter, while the rescued hostages were safely evacuated. 

 

A motorcycle belonging to the terrorists was also recovered.

 

The military reiterated its commitment to intensifying clearance operations to restore lasting peace in the North East.
