The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in sustained support of surface operations, has conducted a series of precision air interdiction missions against identified ISWAP/JAS terrorist enclaves in parts of Borno State.
In the latest phase of the operation, conducted on 30 May 2026, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) platforms executed a precision strike on a terrorist camp at ARINA TAI 3 in the Southern Tumbuns general area. Battle damage assessment confirmed the neutralisation of 13 terrorists.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the mission was part of continuous intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR)-driven operations aimed at denying insurgents freedom of action within the Lake Chad axis.
Similarly, on 28 May 2026 at approximately 1330 hours, air assets conducted a follow-on strike on a suspected terrorist concentration in the WULGO general area of NGALA Local Government Area. The strike successfully neutralised 16 insurgents.
Earlier, on 26 May 2026, NAF air platforms carried out a precision engagement on a terrorist enclave at BIRAMIRI within the GEZUWA general area of BAMA Local Government Area, resulting in the neutralisation of seven terrorists.
The sources added that all missions were executed based on actionable intelligence and confirmed hostile presence, with emphasis on precision targeting to minimise collateral effects while maximising operational impact on insurgent elements.
According to the sources, post-strike assessments indicate significant degradation of terrorist manpower and disruption of logistics and movement within the affected enclaves.
