Security sources said the operation occurred at about 10:55 a.m. on May 8, 2026, after troops responded to a distress call regarding the abduction of a civilian along the axis.
On arrival, the troops made contact with the suspected kidnappers, leading to an exchange during which one of the criminals was neutralised. The remaining suspects reportedly abandoned the victim and fled the scene.
The victim was successfully rescued unharmed.
Items recovered from the scene include one locally fabricated firearm, one live cartridge, suspected illicit drugs and other materials.
The rescued victim and recovered exhibits are currently in the custody of the troops for further investigation and necessary action.
