Troops Rescue Two Kidnap Victims in Benue

Troops of Sector 1, Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), have rescued two kidnapped civilians following a swift response to a suspected terrorist attack in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources said the troops, stationed at Anyiase, acted on credible intelligence at about 8:50 a.m. on April 21 regarding an attack on locals around the Kashimbila River area.
On arrival, the troops made contact with the suspected terrorists and engaged them in a gun duel, forcing the assailants to abandon their captives and flee.
The troops successfully rescued two victims, who have since been reunited with their families.
The sources added that troops are maintaining presence in the area to forestall further attacks and ensure the safety of residents.
