Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued two kidnapped victims during a security operation in Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the rescue took place at about 7:50 a.m. on July 29, when troops of 1 Brigade deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Gwashi conducted operations in Kasahola Village.
According to the sources, the troops successfully rescued the two victims from captivity during the operation.
The victims were immediately secured by the troops and are expected to undergo preliminary debriefing before being reunited with their families.
Military sources said the rescue forms part of sustained offensive operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA aimed at dismantling bandit hideouts, rescuing abducted persons and restoring security across Zamfara State.
The sources added that troops have continued to intensify intelligence-led patrols and clearance operations across the North-West to deny bandits freedom of movement and enhance the safety of communities.
