Troops rescue two kidnap victims, children along Kogi–Kwara border

Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued two kidnapped victims and their children during a security operation along the Kogi–Kwara border.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the rescue was carried out at about 6:30 p.m. on July 29 by troops of the 12 Brigade, deployed at Patrol Base Isanlu Esa, during operations in Bushasha area of Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to the sources, the troops successfully rescued the two victims along with their children during the operation, bringing their ordeal to an end without casualties.
The rescued victims were subsequently reunited with their families after preliminary profiling and necessary security procedures.
Military sources said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes along the Kogi–Kwara border, an area that has witnessed the activities of armed criminal groups in recent times.
The sources added that troops have continued to intensify patrols and intelligence-driven operations to deny kidnappers freedom of movement and enhance the safety of residents and commuters along the corridor.
