Troops Rescue two Young Herder From Mob Attack in Plateau

Troops of Sector 6 under Operation Enduring Peace have rescued two herders from an attempted mob attack by youths in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops responded at about 1:00 p.m. on Aug. 6 following reports of an attempt by suspected Berom youths to attack a herder at Rim Village.
The sources said the troops, with the support of some local residents, intervened promptly and prevented the youths from carrying out the attack.
Following the intervention, the troops evacuated the herder to a safe location to prevent further violence and ensure his safety.
Security sources said the timely response averted what could have escalated into a deadly incident and reaffirmed Operation Enduring Peace commitment to protecting lives and maintaining peace in conflict-prone communities across Plateau State.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attempted attack are ongoing.
