Troops Respond to Cattle Rustling Incident in Plateau Community

Troops of Sector 4 Operation Enduring Peace have responded to a reported cattle rustling incident in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, where one civilian was killed and 17 cattle were stolen.
Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 9:48 a.m. on May 22 at Daruk Kamang village following a distress report of suspected cattle rustling activities in the area.
On arrival at the scene, troops discovered that one resident had been shot dead by the attackers during the incident, while 17 cattle belonging to the victim were reportedly taken away.
The perpetrators were said to have fled the area before the arrival of security operatives.
Troops have since launched efforts to track down the suspects and recover the stolen livestock.
Security authorities assured that operations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible, while patrols have been intensified within the general area to prevent further attacks and restore confidence among residents.
