Two vigilantes killed, two injured in Yobe bomb explosion

At least  two vigilante members have been killed following a bomb explosion suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram terrorists in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

 

Sources said that the incident occurred on Sept. 27 along Damaturu–Buni Yadi Road, near Madiya village.

 

The sources  said the bomb, which went off at about 2:30 p.m., killed two vigilante members instantly.

 

The victims were identified as 35-year-old Kinnafi Modu and 27-year-old Mamman Kasaisa.

 

The sources added that two other vigilante members sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the General Hospital, Damaturu, for treatment.

 

According to the sources , a police team led by the Divisional Police Officer of Gujba and the Officer-in-Charge of the State Intelligence Bureau visited the scene, assisted in evacuation and clearance, and restored normalcy in the area.

 

He said adequate security measures had since been deployed on the road while tactical teams were placed on cautious alert to forestall further attacks.
