Woman found dead with knife wounds in Yobe community

A woman identified as Daso Umaru has been found dead with knife wounds on her face at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Fika Local Government Area of Yobe.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama on Tuesday that the body was discovered around 7:00 a.m. and was later evacuated to the General Hospital, Fika, where a medical doctor confirmed her dead.

 

The corpse has since been released to relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

 

Witnesses said the son of the deceased, Idi Umaru, alleged in anger that one Jauro Gambo, a resident of the same community, might have been responsible for the killing.

 

According to community members, Gambo and his family were nowhere to be found shortly after the incident, fueling suspicion of his involvement.

 

Security forces have reportedly intensified efforts to track his whereabouts.
