Woman killed, houses burnt in communal clash in Plateau

A woman was killed and several houses set ablaze following a violent clash between some Fulani herders and native residents of Rwan and Kopmon communities in Mushere District of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State.
Zagazola gathered that the incident occurred on Aug. 4 and was reported by the Youth President of Mushere District, who alerted authorities at about 8:10 a.m.
The sources said that the cause of the clash is yet to be determined, but tensions reportedly escalated into violence, resulting in the death of an unidentified woman and destruction of property.
The Nigerian Army troops with other Joint Task Force were swiftly deployed to the area to restore calm in the affected communities, while efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing.
Security sources say monitoring continues in the area to prevent further escalation.
