The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has conducted a series of precision airstrikes against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, delivering devastating blows to their operational capabilities in Borno State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that on March 22, 2025, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets struck ISWAP positions in Chilaria, within the notorious Timbuktu Triangle, south of Borno.

The strikes neutralized a significant number of terrorists and obliterated four Hilux trucks used for their operations.

This follows an earlier air interdiction mission on March 21 in Abbaganaram, where two additional ISWAP trucks and a weapons storage facility were destroyed, further crippling their logistics and ability to coordinate attacks.

The latest air operations form part of sustained efforts to eliminate terrorist threats and create an operational environment that enables ground forces to consolidate gains in the Desert Sanity 4 counter-insurgency campaign.

The sources said that Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions continue to guide precision targeting, ensuring that terrorist hideouts, vehicles, and weapons are effectively neutralized.

According to him, the Air Component remains resolute in its mission to provide close air support and degrade insurgent capabilities until total victory is achieved.
