Armed bandits abduct residents in Borgu, Mashegu LGAs of Niger State

Armed bandits have abducted several residents in coordinated attacks on villages in Borgu and Mashegu Local Government Areas of Niger State.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that on Aug. 17 at about 0200hrs, armed bandits in large numbers invaded Malami and Safuluna villages in Borgu LGA.

 

The victims abducted were identified as:Haliru Alhaji Umaru, Zainabu Haliru (female), both of Tungan-Madugu village, Mrs. Joy Ejike (female) of Safuluna village and One unidentified woman, an Igbo by tribe, from Nasarawa village.

 

Similarly, another attack was reported in Mashegu LGA.

 

“At about 0330hrs on the same day, a group of armed bandits stormed Kwatache village via Ibbi in Mashegu LGA and kidnapped two persons namely; Shehu Alhaji Ngwa and Ebuka Chukwuma, both of the same address,”said the sources. 

 

The sourcss  added that the victims were whisked away to an unknown destination.

 

The sources assured that concerted efforts are ongoing to rescue all the kidnapped victims and to apprehend the perpetrators.
