Army killed 3 shaite members in a violent protest in Zaria

Atleast three  members  of the  Islamic Movement of Nigeria, otherwise known as Shi’ites, were reportedly shot on Friday  during a face- off between some soldiers in Zaria, Kaduna state, and members of the sect, Zagazola Learnt.

It was gathered that the three sect members were killed for attacking soldiers deployed from Nigeria Army Depot Zaria to dispersed the protesters.

A Competent sources told Zagazola Makama that the Protest began in Sabon Gari market where the Protestants staged massive protest to remember the Killing of their fellow members in a violent clash in 2018. 

"But things took an ugly dimension when the sect numbering hundreds carrying dangerous weapons, barricaded the roads, and began pelting vehicles with heavy stones and dangerous objects.

"The members of the sect also attempted to attack the police station in Kasuwan Mata in Sabon Gari, before the security personnel were deployed subvert  their plans. 

He said that the sect members again   stormed PZ road  in large numbers, obstructing traffic and throwing stones and  at police and military operatives, which resulted in the killing of three persons while many others were injured.

The incident had obstructed traffic, forcing  shop owners to closed down their shops as many scampered for safety. 

The sources added that the operatives had been able to disperse the protesters and brought the situation under control.
